Mike Lawrence leads districtwide digital learning and infrastructure strategy as Director of IT at ABC Unified, . Nationally recognized among the top 100 in EdTech, Mike co-founded Google’s global educator programs and served as CEO of CUE. A lifelong learner, he is dedicated to advancing student equity through innovation-driven learning opportunities. Bio (166 words): Mike Lawrence is Director of Information & Technology at ABC Unified School District (Los Angeles), where he leads districtwide digital learning strategy and infrastructure. An award-winning educator and nationally recognized EdTech leader, he was named a Top 100 Influencer in EdTech. Mike previously served as CEO of Computer-Using Educators (CUE) and co-founded Google’s Certified Innovator and Trainer programs. He served two terms on the ISTE Board of Directors and contributed to two UNESCO expert groups developing global 1:1 learning frameworks.He delivered a TEDx talk, Reclaim the Teachers’ Lounge, on building cultures of collaboration and elevating teacher agency. Prior to returning to district leadership, he led global learning initiatives at PowerSchool and Jamf, supporting more than 50 million students across 80+ countries. He also currently serves as volunteer Executive Director of the California Student Media Festival, an event he has supported for over two decades. Mike began his career as a high school English teacher and remains committed to advancing equitable, future-ready learning at scale. |
